Atonement

Atonement

“He had accomplished the Atonement, which could give immortality and eternal life to all obedient human beings. All that the Fall allowed to go awry, the Atonement allowed to go aright.” The Atonement, Russell M. Nelson, October, 1996

“When we comprehend His voluntary Atonement, any sense of sacrifice on our part becomes completely overshadowed by a profound sense of gratitude for the privilege of serving Him.” The Atonement, Russell M. Nelson, October, 1996

“There is an imperative need for each of us to strengthen our understanding of the significance of the Atonement of Jesus Christ so that it will become an unshakable foundation upon which to build our lives.” He Lives! All Glory to His Name!”, Richard G. Scott, April, 2010

“Profound personal pondering of the scriptures accompanied by searching, heartfelt prayer will fortify your understanding of and appreciation for His priceless Atonement.” He Lives! All Glory to His Name!, Richard G. Scott, April, 2010

“Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, each of us can become clean and the burden of our rebellion will be lifted.” Personal Strength through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, Elder Scott, October 2013

“If you have made mistakes, and all of us have, whether minor or serious, then you have an enormous need to find out how they can be erased so that you are no longer in darkness.” The Atonement, Boyd K Packer, October 2012

“That is the Light we offer to those who are in darkness and have lost their way. Wherever our members and missionaries may go, our message is one of faith and hope in the Savior Jesus Christ.” The Atonement, Boyd K Packer, October 2012

“Not only does the Atonement of Jesus Christ overcome the effects of the Fall of Adam and make possible the remission of our individual sins and transgressions, but His Atonement also enables us to do good and become better in ways that stretch far beyond our mortal capacities.” Bear Up Their Burdens with Ease, Elder David A. Bednar, April 2014

“But we also need to appreciate that the Lord desires, through His Atonement and by the power of the Holy Ghost, to enliven us—not only to guide but also to strengthen and heal us.” Bear Up Their Burdens with Ease, Elder David A. Bednar, April 2014

“by applying the Atonement we can continue to access the other nurturing gifts of the Holy Ghost, each with its own rich resilience.” Apply the Atoning Blood of Christ, Elder Neal A. Maxwell, October 1997

As I did the research for the atonement quotes there was lots of information to learn and understand. In reading the talks and finding the things that I liked best it was hard to narrow it down to the ones I have chosen.  The quotes I have used are my favorite ones. There is lots of information about the atonement and all it can do for you. I believe that without the atonement our world would be a very different world.  I appreciate the fact that the Lord was willing to let us make choices instead of just telling us what to do and expecting us to follow what we are told.  I think we would be like robots just doing what we are told.  We wouldn't be able to really enjoy our time on earth. I am grateful for the Lords wisdom and the opportunity to learn about the atonement.
